FilmOn Networks has just launched ComiCZoo, the newest of three internet VOD channels curated by L.A.-based Leomark Studios. ComiCZoo plays 24/7 on FilmOn.com’s free TV platform and its shows are also available on demand. The channel features the sharp-witted sketch comedy of Dave & Tom (aka Dave Beeler and Tom Konkle) including their award-winning procedural investigation comedy, Safety Geeks — SVI, a show with more than 2 million views on YouTube. Also from Dave and Tom’s Pith-e Productions is the Monty Python-style science chat show, Invention with Brian Forbes, which has enjoyed a large following since it first went online in 2009.

Other channel highlights are the feature-length Jackass-styled South African comedy, Bustin’ Chops, a quasi-documentary about a team of former TV stuntmen making a comeback, which features Jonathan Pienaar (Blood Diamond); Adventures in Staying Young, shorts by baby boomers Pamela Rand, Hester Schell, and Joan Mankin; and Thong Girl, a campy cult classic movie series created by Glen Weiss about an unlikely super hero. Thong Girl titles have been viewed more than 3 million times through the show’s own website. In addition to all four original Thong Girl movies, ComiCZoo boasts the online debut of a new Thong Girl short, Thong Girl and Captain Zap, recently featured at the Comedy Ninja Festival in Los Angeles.

“Unlike a traditional TV channel, with prescribed time slots, FilmOn lets us program content of any length,” says Leomark CEO Erik Lundmark. “This means we can bring viewers great comedy shorts, as well as features, that they might not otherwise see.”

ComiCZoo joins Leomark Studios’ two other popular FilmOn channels, Creepy Crawly, which features the breakout hit series, Hillbilly Horror Show and a new, critically acclaimed retelling of H.P. Lovecraft‘s The Thing on the Doorstep; and the channel Torque & Tush, which captures motorsports enthusiasts and pin-up models in award-winning shows like iKuztom and Where Cars Don’t Dare.

FilmOn is the world’s largest internet television provider with over 65 million monthly users, 600+ channels and tens of thousands of on demand titles. It is owned by the Greek billionaire Alki David as part of his Anakando Media Group.
