Friday Night Popcorn: ITV2’s Must‑Watch Lineup
It’s a long night ahead, but ITV2 has a smorgasbord that won’t let you fall asleep before midnight. Below is a rundown of the most engaging slots, with my take on whether they’re worth your time.
06:30‑07:30 BST – Dinner Date
Start the evening with a casual swipe‑right on a plate. Stephen’s latest episode has him juggling three potential dates from a menu of dishes, and the tension stays higher than the soufflé. If you’re into light, feel‑good dating drama, this is a decent opener.
07:30‑08:20 BST – The Real Housewives of Potomac
Gizelle leads the crew through a decade‑long saga that’s still fresh. The drama over Karen’s trial is a high‑stakes emotional rollercoaster, but the group’s chemistry keeps it grounded. It’s the show that draws the most viewers on ITV2, so it’s here for a reason.
08:20‑09:15 BST – The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills
Dorit navigates a “Hot Girl Summer” and a surprise guest at the Summer Solstice party. The fashion is on point, but the plot teeters on repetitiveness. Good for a casual watch if you’re in the mood for high‑end drama.
09:15‑10:15 BST – The Only Way Is Essex
From charity fundraisers to camp trips, the Essex crew delivers. Amy and Billy’s rare date night feels like a breath of fresh air amid the usual drama. If you’re a fan of reality‑TV banter, this will satisfy.
10:15‑11:10 BST – Dawson’s Creek
Classic teen drama meets Valentine’s Day chaos. Pacey’s attempt to catch Dawson’s ex on a rebound is a throwback that might feel a bit dated, but it appeals to nostalgic viewers.
11:10‑12:05 BST – Charmed
Three sisters battle supernatural threats amid a robbery. The episode keeps the tension alive but falls short of the show’s earlier high points.
12:05‑13:05 BST – Deal or No Deal
Stephen Mulhern hosts as Felix faces the Banker. It’s a high‑stakes game that offers suspense – a reliable spot if you’re craving a classic game‑show vibe.
13:05‑14:05 BST – Supermarket Sweep
Rylan Clark‑Neal leads a frantic supermarket showdown for a £3,000 prize. The energy is contagious, making it a fun, light‑hearted break.
14:05‑15:10 BST – Ant and Dec’s Limitless Win
Continuing their money‑ladders, the duo mixes humor with high stakes. It’s a solid choice for late‑afternoon viewers.
15:10‑17:00 BST – New: The Real Housewives of Potomac & Beverly Hills
Both shows introduce fresh storylines. While the drama remains thick, it’s a good time for fans to catch up on the latest twists.
17:00‑21:35 BST – Celebrity Catchphrase & Big Brother Live Eviction
Celebrity Catchphrase offers a light quiz night, while Big Brother’s live eviction keeps the audience on edge. Both are reliable filler for late‑night viewers.
21:35‑01:30 BST – Family Guy, American Dad, Bob’s Burgers
The trio of animated series provides a mix of satire and humor. They’re a safe bet for those who enjoy a comedic break after a day of drama.
01:30‑03:00 BST – Next Level Chef USA & Unwind with ITV
The cooking show pushes classic burgers to new heights, while Unwind with ITV offers a calming wrap‑up. Both are great for winding down before bed.
Bottom Line: ITV2’s Friday lineup mixes reality, drama and comedy, with the Real Housewives of Potomac as the headline act. Pick a show that matches your mood – whether you want drama, laughter or a quick escape.
