Thursday’s TV Line‑up: From EastEnders Drama to Garden Make‑overs

The BBC One schedule for Thursday, 15 Oct 2026, offers a full‑day menu of familiar staples and fresh twists. Whether you’re a soap‑aficionado, a reality‑TV fan or simply looking for a quiet garden fix‑up, there’s something for everyone.

Why EastEnders Still Holds the Spotlight (18:30‑19:00 BST)

EastEnders returns at 18:30 BST with the classic drama of “Kat and Alfie’s relationship hangs in the balance.” The episode’s focus on a desperate search adds a layer of suspense that keeps viewers glued to their screens. The show’s enduring popularity means it’s a reliable evening anchor.

Reality TV Keeps the Stakes High (19:00‑20:05 BST)

The Celebrity Traitors at 19:00 BST dives into a tense, game‑like atmosphere where “the burning question is, who has been murdered?” The show’s intrigue and guest‑star appeal make it one of the day’s sharper reality offerings.

Home & Garden: The Quiet Fixer‑Upper (14:00‑15:30 BST)

Escape to the Country (14:00‑14:45 BST) showcases newly retired homeowners searching for a countryside haven. It’s followed by Garden Rescue (14:45‑15:30 BST), where Charlie and Lee transform a Crawley plot into a culinary garden. These programs provide a soothing contrast to the day’s high‑energy shows.

Quiz Night: A Brainy Break (16:15‑17:00 BST)

Pointless at 16:15 BST offers a light, intellectual diversion. Alexander Armstrong and Andi Oliver lead contestants to score as few points as possible, a format that rewards cleverness over conventional trivia.

Wrap‑Up: What to Watch Next (21:40‑22:40 BST)

Question Time (21:40‑22:40 BST) caps the evening with a topical debate, giving viewers a chance to engage with current affairs before the night’s news cycle resumes.

Bottom Line

EastEnders anchors the evening with drama that remains compelling. Reality and garden programmes offer variety, while quiz shows provide a mentally stimulating break. Finish the night with Question Time for a dose of debate.
