The Dixie-set mob flick, Southern Fury, has landed veteran executive producer Steven Saxton. The movie features Nicolas Cage playing the villain, alongside Adrian Grenier of Entourage and Jonathan Shaech (Marauders, Vice). John Cusack also stars as a police officer.

Steven Saxton is known most recently for his work on Lone Survivor (starring Mark Wahlberg), 2 Guns (with Wahlberg and Denzel Washington) and the multiple Oscar-nominee The Kids are All Right. Most recently Saxton completed a slate of Bruce Willis films including Precious Cargo, Marauder and Extraction as Executive Producer. His company is Hollywood Studios.

Southern Fury is also being produced by Randall Emmett (Lone Survivor, End of Watch, Escape Plan) and George Furla (Lone Survivor, End of Watch, Escape Plan). The film was shot largely in Mississippi, where local press in Biloxi got very excited about Cage’s presence at hot spots like Slap Yo Mama BBQ. Cage also just announced he will appear in an upcoming horror movie “Mom and Dad” with Selma Blair.

The film Wrapped in May of 2016 and is scheduled to release in 2017.
