Donald Trump has criticized Alec Baldwin over the actor’s involvement in the shooting death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of the Western film, ‘Rust.’ The former American president suggested that the performer’s role in the fatal incident  may not have necessarily been an accident.

Trump has long made his disdain for Baldwin known, even before the shooting on the dram’s set at the Bonanza Creek Ranch in Bonanza City, New Mexico on October 21. The duo has clashed since the entertainer famously began satirizing the politician on ‘Saturday Night Live’ when the latter began campaigning to become president in 2016. Baldwin went on to win an Emmy Award the following year for his lampooning impersonation of Trump.

While appearing on conservative radio host Chris Stigall’s podcast last Thursday, November 4, the entrepreneur discussed the ‘Rust’ shooting incident and the entertainer’s role in it. “He’s a troubled guy. There’s something wrong with him. I’ve watched him for years. He gets into fistfights with reporters,” the former reality television personality said. He added: “He’s a cuckoo-bird. He’s a nutjob. And…in my opinion, he had something to do with it.”

When asked about Baldwin’s impersonation of him on ‘SNL,’ Trump claimed he though they were terrible. The politician added: “There’s something wrong with him. He’s a sick guy. I mean, I’ve seen him for years because [of what] he did. I thought a poor job of imitating me.”

The actor maintains the shooting on the movie’s set was a tragic accident. He also claims that he was told the gun used in the shooting was not loaded.

Trump said that he think Baldwin shouldn’t have pointed the gun at any of the crew members, whether or not it was loaded. “But if nothing else, how do you take a gun and just, whether it’s loaded or not loaded, point it at somebody that’s not even in the movie, and pull the trigger?,” he asked.

The entrepreneur added that if he had been handed a gun, he would fire it into the air first to check whether or not it was loaded for himself. “Who would take a gun and point it at a cinematographer and pull the trigger?,” he also asked.

Trump went on to question how the gun became loaded with live ammunition. He pondered if “the people that take care of the equipment and the guns and everything else” loaded the gun before they gave it to Baldwin. The media personality also pondered if “maybe he loaded it.”
