With the 86th Academy Awards right around the corner literally everyone is busy making their predictions as to who will land in the winners circle.
Even Google Play got in on the pre-awards ceremony action. Thursday afternoon, the app store tweeted an image that provides the Oscar winners for Best Picture, Best Actress in a Leading Role, Best Actor in a Leading role and Best Directing, where The Wolf on Wall Street dominated in all categories except for Best Actress where Amy Adams took the spot for her role in American Hustle.
All of the wins were predicted by using Google searches to show each films popularity. While a few were happy with the results, many were not.

The app store’s Twitter account announce that it will continue to update their predictions in real time according to Google searches, leading up to the awards ceremony. The only way we’ll find out how many they got right, if any, will be from the results of the real Oscar ceremony that airs on Sunday with Ellen Degeneres as host.
