Who needs a sheep-dog when you can have your own robotic drone! Farming has taken a step into the future – at least that is if you go by one Irish farmer’s modern twist on shepherding his sheep!
In a video posted on YouTube you can see a drone – aptly named ‘Shep’ – successfully leading a flock of the woolly creatures around a field. The footage is shot from the drone itself and makes great viewing.
So could the traditional sheepdog be replaced by a flying camera device? This would of course change everything, for a start they would have to do a remake of the movie ‘Babe’ where the little pig would be raised by drones as opposed to dogs.
Here at Ginger Clam we’d like a drone that can do something really useful, like mix a gin and tonic – or maybe suck a tennis ball through a garden hose.
