According to The Blaze, the producers of Son of God have decided to cut the character of Satan completely out of the film. This follows online speculation that the producers, Mark Burnett and Roma Downey, had deliberately cast the actor playing the Anitchrist to look like President Obama.
Son of God is based on the miniseries The Bible in which actor Mohamen Mehdi Ouazanni portrays Satan. Because they were worried the attention on Beelzebub Obama would distract from the focus on Jesus Christ, they decided to give the Prince of Darkness the boot.
The producers say that it was the bloggers that picked up on the resemblance and the ultimate goal is to have viewers focus on Jeuss, not make any sort of political accusations.
